Fees and Info

First Steps

Choosing a counsellor can be a challenge. I offer a free 20-minute introductory call. You get some sense of what I’m like. I’ll get a sense of what’s going on for you, and the kind of support you’re looking for. Whenever you’re ready, you can decide if you’d like to try a full-length session.

Fees

My fee is $140 + GST for all 50 minute sessions.

Fees are aligned with recommendations for Registered Clinical Counsellors in British Columbia. I offer a few sliding scale spaces. If cost is a barrier for you, please connect with me directly to discuss.

Payment

I accept payment by credit card, cash or e-transfer. I require a credit card on file to secure bookings but will not charge your card if you choose to pay using a different method. All information is stored in JaneApp which is secure, encrypted and confidential.

Cancellations and No-Shows

Please provide at least 24 hour notice for cancellations. Appointments that are cancelled less then 24 hours prior will be billed for the cost of the session. If you do not show up for your appointment, you will be billed for the cost of the session.

Crisis Support

Please note I am not available for crisis support. If you need to access support and care immediately, please reach out to any of the following excellent resources. Trained volunteers will be there to connect with you and offer help.

The Counselling Process

In our first session, we’ll review any questions you have about confidentiality and the informed consent form so you can feel secure working with me. Then we’ll explore what your ‘pain points’ are, where you’re suffering or struggling, and what your goals are. We’ll also explore your resources and supports, the things that can help you to flourish. Each session may look a little different as we tune into what’s happening for you.

Frequency of sessions depends on your needs and comfort level. If you want to deeply explore concerns or get through a particularly difficult time, weekly sessions could work well. Four to six sessions might be enough to gain some new tools, or to process a transition.  If you’re looking for more long-term support, bi-weekly or monthly sessions might be appropriate.

Insurance

BC Medical Services Plan does not currently cover Registered Clinical Counsellors. Some extended health benefits programs cover Registered Clinical Counsellors. Please check with your insurance provider to see what your coverage is like.

I am currently authorized to provide services through the First Nations Health Authority Mental Health Benefit Program and ICBC.
